Oceanside
Introduction
Oceanside is an official custom map created by the user, SteelRaven7. The map was one of two custom maps released at the time support for custom maps was made public.
History
- Jan 6, 2015 Patch Notes
- Made the keycode paper more visible
- Added some invisible colliders that hopefully should prevent people getting stuck at rocks on zipline side.
- Replaced one intruder c4 with grenade, they now have one each. Should remove c4 jumping entirely. Not sure if the nade thing is going to work, but let's try it.
- A few more props to give more hiding spots inside.
- Some more cover by crevace capture point. Should make it harder to cover both capture points as a guard.
Overview
Oceanside is the only official map that takes place in a home; this beachfront has 3 stories, a roof, and a basement. The intruders must capture 1 of two briefcases in order to win. One briefcase is located in the basement, while another is located in the master bedroom, third floor. There are multiple entrances to the main home, including ventilation shafts, the garden, a zipline, the front door, the back door, etc. Guards spawn in the basement, while Intruders spawn near a car, outside the home. Oceanside can be a map of quick, fast-paced battles or long, sneaky attempts due to it’s versatility.
Additional Features
Oceanside houses multiple additional features, which include but are not limited to:
- A lamp in the garden, which can be extinguished by a quick shot, or pressing “V” on it.
- A dragon in the master bathroom, which emits a “Haw” sound, alerting their team (and the other) that a player is in the room.
- A key code, located on the kitchen wall, which opens the main gate and drives the intruder car to the garage door; this also brings one of the two capture points much, much closer. The location of this code is on a chair in the back yard (facing the ocean).
- A shower near the sauna room which can be turned on or off, producing smoke and emitting a lound shower noise.
