The Manta features a 30-round magazine and can be equipped with a red dot sight. The recoil of the weapon varies with posture, with prone positions having the least recoil, crouched positions posessing moderate recoil, and standing positions demonstrating the highest amounts of recoil. When personal energy levels exceed 60, there is no sway when aiming down sights. In maps influenced by wind, long-range shots may deviate from the intended trajectory. Furthermore, the Manta cannot be used whilst climbing ladders or whilst swimming.

The Manta is a selective fire submachine gun. It has 30 rounds and takes 5 to kill, or a single headshot. Against armor, it takes 9 body shots or 2 headshots to kill. A headshot will only reliably ragdoll a player in armor if they are standing.

Aiming down sights with the Manta with more than 60 energy will eliminate swaying. Firing only two shots at a time will reset the crosshair back on the target. The lower a player's balance is, the less recoil followup shots have.

The Manta shines at long ranges, able to attack from any distance.

Tuning

The Manta's last used firemode is saved locally on a player's computer in their config file. If the Manta's firemode is restricted via tuning then it will not take effect until a player changes their firemode mid-match. This same issue affects having firemodes exclusive to one team.

The ammo that is loaded in a weapon by default is determined by the map. If a map spawns the player with more ammo loaded than the maximum magazine size as determined by tuning, then reloading will return the excess to the stack of SMG Ammo in their inventory.

Having the held Manta drop when ragdolled will make it float in the air at the position where it was last held. Only Shields and Briefcases have physics.

Trivia

  • The Manta is directly inspired by the KRISS Vector Gen I submachine gun.
  • The Manta's model was replaced on 2021 April 24.
  • On the left and right sides of the frame at the front of the weapon above the barrel is the text: MANTA.
  • The first-person animation for changing the firemode on the Manta moves the knob used for the safety instead of the rate of fire. Though it cannot be seen easily in normal gameplay, the rear knob's position is accurately mirrored on the right side of the firearm when moved.
